Things to do in Windsor

Our luxury 3 bed self-catering home provides the perfect base to explore Windsor and its surrounding areas. With plenty to do on your doorstep from visiting Windsor Castle to exploring the Great Park, you will find everything is within easy walking distance.



Walk into town to visit historic Windsor castle, explore the fascinating history and enjoy wandering around the beautifully cared for grounds. Don’t forget if the Royal Standard flag is flying, this means the Queen is also home. 


With thousands of acres to explore you can easily spend the day at Windsor Great Park. Take a picnic and do the “Long Walk” or try one of the many cycle routes and find the local pub. From stunning open lakes to wild deer grazing in the distance you will find yourself lost in this idyllic landscape. The Great Park is also a lovely place to visit in the cooler months, with stunning red and orange tree leaves lining the path in Autumn and beautiful misty open fields during Winter. 


Walk over the bridge into historic Eton. You will often see the pupils of Eton College smartly dressed walking to their classes and many of the teachers cycling through the small town. Take a tour around the stunning chapel, or simply sit by the river and enjoy lunch in these majestic surroundings. You can also hire bikes in Eton if you want to explore. 


Open all year enjoying a range of wonderful seasonal displays, you will find the beautifully manicured Savill Gardens are the perfect place to unwind. 



Great for families, Lego Land is the perfect place for children of all ages. You can catch the bus from the town centre to avoid the traffic and enjoy a full day of adventures. 


Head to Windsor and Eton Central train station and you can be in London within 30 minutes. Change at Slough and take the train to London Paddington. If you’re having a night out at the theatre or dinner, don’t forget to check when the last train back leaves.
